Mob Rush: crowd shooter

Steer your crew through number gates in a crowd shooter. Balance upgrades against incoming enemies, avoid division gates and prepare for boss attacks.

How to play

  1. Start a level and steer the blue crew by dragging horizontally, using A and D, or pressing the left and right arrow keys. Shooting is automatic.
  2. Choose number gates that help your crew grow, avoid enemy attacks and pick upgrades in the armory.
  3. Clear the level to continue. Use the pause button or press P when you need a break.

Playing guide

Steer the crew, not the camera

Mob Rush is a free browser crowd shooter: your blue crew holds its ground while gates and red enemies approach. Move sideways with your mouse, a touch drag, A and D, or the arrow keys. Shooting is automatic. Bullets travel straight ahead in the lane where they were fired; moving the crew does not bend bullets already in flight. Line up the crew with the target you want to hit, then leave enough time for shots to reach it.

Compare what a gate does to your current crew

With 20 crew, a +30 gate gives you 50 while ×2 gives you 40. With 100 crew, those same gates give 130 and 200. The better choice changes as the crew grows. Division rounds down: 101 ÷2 leaves 50, and dividing a lone troop ends the run. A gate applies once when collected, so read its current value before committing to its lane.

Turn a negative gate into a useful one

Only the leader’s shots add one to signed addition and subtraction gates: five hits change −3 to +2. The rest of the crew shoots through them without charging them. Multiplication and division gates are fixed, so shooting a ÷2 will never turn it into a multiplier. A leader bullet used to charge a gate cannot also hit an enemy behind it. Keep an escape lane available if a negative gate is still harmful as it approaches.

Choose an upgrade for the problem in front of you

Select a weapon, armour, growth or rapid-fire upgrade, then steer toward the armory lane to shoot its lock. Selection alone does not buy it: the remaining hit count must reach zero. Weapons and rapid-fire kits increase firing speed; growth lets more of the crew fire; armour reduces damage from warned attacks. Upgrades do not turn each bullet into a stronger hit, and armour does not prevent the one-for-one crew loss when a red troop crosses the defence line. Switch your attention back to gates and enemies before an upgrade costs you the crew.

Dodge with the whole formation

Orange lanes warn where missiles and boss attacks will land. Move the whole crew clear; a safe leader does not protect troops still inside the warning. A wider crew needs more room to dodge. Keep moving away from a launched attack even if you defeat its source, because airborne projectiles can still arrive. Winning a level requires clearing its enemies and bosses and surviving the remaining launched attacks.

Common questions

Do I need to keep clicking to shoot?
No. Shooting is automatic. Your main controls are sideways steering, selecting upgrades and pausing.
Does the order of number gates matter?
Yes. Starting with 20 crew, collecting +30 and then ×2 gives 100. Taking ×2 and then +30 gives only 70. A multiplier scales the crew you have at that moment, so compare the next gate with your current number rather than treating every multiplier as the best choice.
Why are my bullets not hurting a newly arriving enemy?
Each red troop and boss needs four seconds actually visible on screen before blue bullets can damage it. Off-screen time and pause time do not count, and the target must still be visible when hit. After that approach period, check your lane: ordinary red troops need four hits, while specialists and bosses take more. Moving sideways aims future shots; it does not redirect earlier ones.
Does a huge crew make me invulnerable?
No. Only part of the crew fires at once, with growth upgrades increasing participation. Red troops crossing the defence line still remove crew one for one, and a warned attack can hit many troops left in its lane. Recruitment, upgrades and dodging solve different problems.
Can I pause Mob Rush?
Yes. Use the pause button, P or Escape. The game also pauses when it loses focus.
Does my campaign save when I leave?
Your current level is saved for this browser tab when session storage is available. Reloading or returning in the same tab resumes that level, and Try again restarts it after a defeat. This is a level checkpoint, not a permanent or cross-device save of your crew and upgrades.
