Inside Me: interactive human anatomy

Explore human body structures in a 3D anatomy viewer. Select a part, change system layers and follow guided processes with supporting sources. For learning, not diagnosis.

How to play

  1. Choose a body structure in the 3D view or use the search box to find a part by name.
  2. Use the body tools to show or hide systems, change layer opacity, or explore the X-ray and section views.
  3. Read the selected structure’s location and function, then try the simulations and challenge labs to explore how body systems work.

Playing guide

Start with one body structure

Inside Me is an interactive 3D anatomy explorer. Select a structure in the body view or search for its name. Read its location and function, follow the nearby-structure links, and use Check the Science to open the supporting references.

Look through the layers

Use the layer controls to show or hide systems and adjust their opacity. Switch between front, back, X-ray and section views to inspect a selected part in context. If you lose your place, reset the body view and search again.

Explore a process, then try a body lab

Live Systems offers guided simulations such as following food or a red blood cell. Pause, replay or change the simulation speed to examine a step. The Body Lab has five-round challenges with both timed and untimed choices; read each challenge card before starting.

Common questions

Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Press / to focus search, F for front, B for back, X for X-ray and R to reset the body. Escape closes open panels.
Can I use Inside Me to diagnose a health problem?
No. Inside Me is an educational anatomy explorer, not medical advice or a diagnostic tool. The layered views are teaching aids, and real bodies vary.
Which anatomy challenges can I try without a timer?
Choose System Match, Build a Skeleton or Body Detective for an untimed challenge. Name That Part, Organ Drop and System Hunt are timed. For unscored exploration, stay in the body view and use search, layers and the structure descriptions at your own pace.
