Energy Clicker: build your power supply

Play Energy Clicker free in your browser. Click for energy, then build solar, wind, nuclear and dam upgrades to power the city.

How to play

  1. Unlock the Energy Clicker, then press Click Me! to earn energy.
  2. Spend energy on solar panels and the available generation upgrades. Build wind turbines, nuclear plants and a dam as you progress.
  3. Watch the city goal and meet its requirements to power on the city. After finishing, you can start a new run.

Playing guide

Turn one click into an energy supply

Unlock Energy Clicker, then use the Click Me! control to earn energy. Buy solar panels to increase the amount each click produces. The first solar panel unlocks wind turbines, and the later upgrades appear as the power supply grows. It is a browser power clicker about building a fictional grid, not a simulation of real-world energy planning.

Work out your next solar upgrade

You begin at one energy per click. After 20 clicks, spend the 20 energy on your first solar panel: the balance returns to zero, but each click now earns two. Another 100 clicks gives you the 200 energy needed for the second panel, which raises each click to four. Each panel doubles click power, reaching 64 energy per click with all six panels. The first wind turbine costs 1,000 energy and becomes available after just one panel; you do not need all six solar panels before building wind power.

Build the upgrades in order

There are six solar panels, three wind turbines, two nuclear plants and one dam to build. Wind, nuclear and the dam generate energy on their own cycles once they are available, while solar panels improve click power. Keep an eye on the next price and the city goal instead of spending energy as soon as it appears; the dam can be built only after both nuclear plants.

Know what produces energy automatically

Once built, each wind turbine contributes 2,000 energy per completed four-second cycle. Each nuclear plant contributes 9,000 per six-second cycle, and the dam contributes 12,000 per two-second cycle. Generators have a short startup animation before their first cycle. These are active play timings, not guaranteed wall-clock earnings: the tab must be visible, and slower animation can delay a payout. You can stop clicking and let the generators run while you decide what to build next.

Finish the grid, then light the city

The city ending needs all 12 upgrades and a 1,000,000-energy reserve. The goal panel tells you what is still missing, so it is useful for planning the next purchase. A run is held in the current visit: reloading or leaving starts a fresh power supply. You do not need an account, download or idle-game setup to play.

Common questions

What is the upgrade order?
Click for energy, add solar panels, then build wind turbines, nuclear plants and finally the dam. Each later group appears after the required earlier upgrades.
Why is nuclear power still locked when I have enough energy?
You must build all three wind turbines before buying a nuclear plant; a large energy balance alone does not unlock it. The first plant costs 5,500,000 energy and the second costs 10,000,000. Both plants are required before you can buy the 13,000,000-energy dam, so plan for the prerequisites as well as the price.
How do I power the city?
Build all six solar panels, three wind turbines, two nuclear plants and the dam, then reach the 1,000,000-energy reserve shown by the city goal.
Does Energy Clicker earn energy in a hidden tab or offline?
No. Switching away from the tab pauses automatic generation, and returning does not award energy for the time away. Keep the game open and visible to generate energy without clicking. There are no offline earnings; closing or reloading the game starts a new run.
Does my progress save when I reload?
No. Energy Clicker keeps a run for the current visit, so reloading or leaving starts a new one.
